I dislike the word 'pretty, especially when describing my work. I try to take flowers beyond generic by forcing the viewer to see beyond the surface. In the photo of a 'Double Delight' rose, I was interested in the contour and the space around it. By breaking the photo down into a basic graphic form, I was able to draw focus to the flowers shape.
