When I shot this photo, I wanted to capture the texture of the metal against the compressed block of letters and interesting geometric shapes of this gas line cover. The chipped grey paint was boring and camouflaged the elements that I was interested in. I later reworked the image in Photoshop, overlaying several images of different colors and textures to enhance the texture and to add energy and excitement.
